SONOGENES is founded and led by Dr. Renu Upadhyay, a senior Gynaecologist. She completed her MS in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2004. After a decade-long and successful practice in Obstetrics & Gynecology, she completed one-year Fellowship in Advanced O&G Ultrasound from Mediscan Systems, Chennai, recognised by the Fetal Medicine Foundation, UK.

Dhanbad, being her birthplace, is where she decided to return to start a centre dedicated to Fetal Medicine and Gynecologic ultrasound.

Most of the big cities have dedicated Fetal Medicine centres but the need of the hour is to make such expertise available everywhere. SONOGENES, though starting small, is a big step in Fetal Medicine in Dhanbad and Jharkhand.
